Yes, the screws that attach to the radiator are a pain in the ass, but patience will make them fit. Be sure and use the new screws, as opposed to the ones that came out of the radiator. My cone filter comes VERY close to touching my heat shield, and I don't see a problem with it. I don't have the top cover, so I can't comment on that. Where did you get it from? My ECIS didn't come with a top piece.

I'm having a very hard time installing the two screw by the radiator, any pointer? ...with the heat shield in the way, it's making it hard to align the holes! the heatsheild provided a good one?

also, when installing the cover, it's ok for it to be touching the top part of the cone filter?
