Okay, I found this link that may help shed some light on the pros & cons of the hinged vs solid type of front strut brace. It certainly makes sense to me. Something to consider is the hinged brace probably provides some structural improvement, but the solid type would seem to do a better job at it. Unfortunately, for us ASC equipped M3 owners, JTD quit making their brace. Like mentioned before if we can get at least 20 folks interested then JTD would do another production run at $450 per brace.
