ANY strut tower brace is of little help on an e36, because there is very little, if any, strut tower flex in the absence of a brace to begin with. The LTW brace is probably the best. However, Dinan's is pretty good, too. This whole thing about "hinges" vs. "no hinges" is not all that persuasive to me. Because of unibody design, extreme cornering forces can flex the towers in a horizontal path towards each other. (to prove this, take a look at some old/high-mileage e36's and you'll find that the towers may have actually moved slightly closer together over time due to fatigue - my old e36 w/ 135k had this) If you have a fat-ass solid aluminum bar bolted in the middle of the towers, this tower flex is minimized/eliminated. People "say" that hinged braces don't address vertical (up and down) tower flex. Well, because of the way the unibody is made, and the suspension is designed, you don't get vertical tower flex in turns. Pop your hood and look at the towers and you'll see how they would be susceptible to horizontal flexing towards each other, but not vertical flex. Also, check out the "Strong-Strut" ad on this board where they do a comparo of all the popular braces. They call Dinan's "the best of the rest".
