...But it has everything to do with a strange man saying "hi" to someone he doesn't know. The woman will think it's the beginning of a come-on. If she's interested -- or just plain not timid -- she'll reply back. If she's not interested or timid, she'll ignore you. My sisters and my GF would do the same (though, hopefully, my GF wouldn't say hi under any circumstances!).

However: I do get pissed when I pass another M3 on the road, give the guy a thumbs up or hi-sign, and he just ignores me or looks like he has no idea why I'm signaling him.

When I owned my 68 Camaro, at least 75 percent of other 67-69 Camaro owners would honk or signal somehow in recognition. I would expect the same of M3 owners -- but I get bupkiss in return!

I parked next to this lady exiting her BMS yesterday, and politely said "Hi" to her as I was getting out of my car. She didn't even bat an eyelash. No "hi, "hello" nothing.

I mean fine, if you're going to drive a nice car, there's no need to belittle me because I drive a Pinto. At least it's paid for.
