I don't know if you were serious about the good martini but here's how I make them. I've been a bartender for the past few Summers between school.

You can use vodka or gin, an olive or a twist, and it can be shaken or stirred. First thing you should do is chill the glass. Put a few cubes of ice in the glass and fill with soda water then set the glass aside. In a mixing tin, add a few ice cubes and your alcohol. Cover and shake the tin so that the ice chips and you "bruise" the alcohol. You could also stir the alcohol with the ice. Now set this aside. Empty the soda water and ice from the glass and put just a splash of dry vermouth in. Swirl it around so that it coats the inside of the glass and then throw the vermouth out. Strain the alcohol from the mixing tin into the glass. You can add olives, olive juice (dirty martini), or rub the rind from a lemon (a twist) around the lip of the glass. Enjoy!!!!
