Is best to invest on something less than $100.
"miss-shifting" (aka shifting into the incorrect gear). Generally, a miss shift causes an engine to overrev and cause extensive internal damage. Especially in an E36 M3, it generally means a few thousand dollars in repairs.

Look under UUC Transmission Mounts


I have a 95 and this happens rarely. I would just live with the occasional excitement unless it will get worse or other bad effects if not fixed, or if its easy to fix.
