You dont need a picture of the VANOS unit. The unit is right in front of the valve cover.. the one with that large hump on the intake side. Its not a DIY replacement item and is only sold in one whole unit. I'm not sure about this plate in the unit since the main cause of VANOS failure is a sticking piston leaving the cam in default or retarded cam timing.
