I drive an F-250 Super Duty Turbo Diesel truck. I can gain nearly 60 HP with a simple chip. For some technical reason(which I don't know), a turbo charged engine lends itself toward chipping.
Maybe some techy out there can tell us why ??

big performance gains in chipped turbo cars come from increasing the turbo's boost. for instance, the new STi has more boost (amoung other things) than the WRX. non-turbo cars have to settle for re-mapped fuel program usage, for instance from the factory a the programming may attempt to balance fuel efficiency and performance, and the chip swings emphasis to that latter.
