I use my E-Brake ALWAYS. Always leave car in gear. Was out in Buckhead a few weeks ago and got towed from the Publix parking lot on Peachtree. Well lit, stores open late, not too crowded and no punk valet to rag out my car in the parking deck.(seemed like a good idea at the time.) Came back at 12:30am (last store closed at 12:00)and they are booting cars left and right. Must have been over 100 cars being booted. I'm thinking shit what's it going to cost to get my car unbooted. So when I get to where my car should have been... Empty space. There's this dude standing there, and he asks, "Was that your green M3? They just towed it away 5 min. ago." To say that I was in shock would be an understatement. I ask this dude who is on the phone with his buddy telling him to come get his car before they boot it, Why did they tow my car? He's says the tow truck guy told him "This guy can afford it". Long story short... I'm stuck in this parking lot for another hour before my ride get's there and they were booting cars as fast as they could. But they DID NOT TOW A SINGLE CAR while I was there. Anyway, I had my E-brake on and the wheels were turned sharply (not planned) didn't even slow 'em down. Cost my $100 for the tow. Would have been $50 for a boot and only $6 to valet. Moral of the story. Don't park in the Publix parking lot in Buckhead unless you'll be back before midnight or you will be booted and if you drive a BMW you might just get towed. (100+ cars at $50/car every Friday and Saturday!! Quite a nice racket they've got going there. I should change my line of work. No wonder the signs explaining that you could be towed or booted are about a 1/5 the size of the signs that say "Please don't steal our shopping carts.")

I don't go to Buckhead much anymore, but when I do, you can bet I'll valet.
