Some agencies classify it as a specialty vehicle, and can't cover them. However if you transfer an existing policy they have to cover it for the remainder of the term, or so was the impression that I was given from my agent. I pay around 1900/yr FYI, 27, 1 point.

I'm currently paying $450/month (but that's because of my previous driving record - 3 speeds about 2-3yrs ago in NY). In June my tickets will fall off and I'm currently with Progressive. Traveler's was my other insurance. I may go with either State Farm or AAA here in SoCali. The quotes were about $2k/yr. So yes everyone is right, insurance companies classify the M3 as a sports car.
