From working on other radios their is typically a 12v mini light bulb( back light) which lights this up. As long as its not the display itself. If the backlight is the issue, you will still be able to see the numbers during the day at the right angle. This could be probley be repalced by a local TV/radio repair guy. although, I do this stuff myself, if you have no experience I wouldn't try it. Last, if the display is totally out I would look for a new radio on ebay motors, stock ones go pretty cheap w/code.

The radio light for the channel went out in my 95 318i. The parts guy at the dealer said there was nothing to do. Anyone have any suggestions?
