Yup.....3150 lbs..vs the newer E46 cars that are getting heavy....200-350 lbs heavier!

Styling is in the eye of the owner..I like the lines on the E36 more than the E46....Especially E36 Sedans

Can anyone tell me if there are any major differences between the '97-'99 M3s?

THe biggest difference was the 2 year model run of the E36M3 Sedans...97&98...98's also came with side impact airbags....
One of the big assets of a 4 door is loading and unloading your gear/track tires....Try that in Coupe! Right in and right out....also in many states Insurance is lower on "sedan" GO figure :-)
