In Reply to: 97' e36 m-3 first suspension mods for stock car? posted by HIGH-G on June 03, 2001 at 16:43:42:

I own a completely stock 97' M-3. I feel silly complaing but, too much body roll. Can someone suggest the first and most cost effective suspension modifications to be made. I have the stock alloys and like them a lot. Keeping the same wheel size, I thought I would make the following modifications: 1)BMP lowering springs(street performance not sport), Bilstein sport shocks, BMP front 27mm sway bar, BMP rear 22mm swaybar, BMP front and rear shock tower supports. BMP crossbrace. The one really large question I have: Can you lower the car without puting in camber plates, front?, rear? I know they can increase cornering performance and reduce tire wear. What's critical? Any help is appreciated thanks.

bars. That will tighten up the steering and eliminate some body roll without affecting the ride quality. Should be around $500. If that's not enough for you...do springs and shocks. Camber kits depend on how much you drop the car.
