2nd Vehicle... What are your thoughts??? (archive)

I am looking to get a second vehicle (daily driver) for a couple reasons... First it will save on insurance (multi-car discount) secondly it will save wear and tear on my beloved M3

I am sure a lot of you guys have seconds cars (Bikes?) - What are your thoughts on the subject??? I am going to call tomorrow about a '76 2002 for 1750.00 - Would that make a good daily driver???

What do you guys have (and what would you recommend, I am looking to stay with BMW)???
