Hi -

I just put into my 1998 E36 M3/4 a Schroth harness belt for autocross.

We disconnected the battery, then disconnected the wires that go to the pyro pretenstioner and seatbelt sensor before we removed the seat.

Now, after everything is buttoned up, and power reconnected, I think there *might* be a problem with the seatbelt sensor. The Fasten Seatbelt lamp (it's actually an icon) on the dash only comes on when the key is first turned. Then it never comes on again, regardless of whether the driver's seatbelt is fastened or not.

Could you check in your car, after the engine is running and the "lamp test" sequence has finished, while the driver's seatbelt is UNFASTENED, does your Fasten Seatbelt lamp go out or stay on, warning you that the belt is not latched?

Thank you for calming my paranoia...

-c
