HI everyone, sorry it took forever for me to reply to this thread. ZIppy M3 is correct on the HALOs. You can practically make it light up any color you want depending on the color of the LEDs that you use. I didnt use the fiber optics for it required modifying the ZKW Ellipsoid headlight too much. I already spent a grip on the E39 headlight and didnt want to spend another 4 bills if I messed up my euro ellipsoids. Anyways, here is an option for you guys who are interested in this conversion.
As you read this, I am currently working on the instructions on how I did this conversion.
I am also NOW taking orders for the unmodified HALOs (angel eyes) that I took out from the 2001 E39 headlights. I will be selling this as a kit with the completed instructions on how to do it in a ZKW Ellipsoid Headlight for the E36. This is NOT a plug and play kit, that is why the instructions should help make it easier.
The instructions will include:
1. Step by step procedure on how I did it.
2. Diagrams and drawings to aid in the conversion.
3. List of Tools and materials needed.
4. LED wiring diagram.
5. Resistor specs and correct wire gauge.
6. Wiring diagram to power up the ANGEL EYES.
My local dealerships are selling the 2001 E39 Headlights from $640 up to $1600 a pair (2 headlights). The price of the kit that Im selling is determined by how much I can get these 2001 E39 Headlights for.
Note- there are 2 HALOs per headlight.
Im selling 2 different kits:
Kit #1: One (1) pair of Angel eyes (2 Halos) with instructions for $350 + shipping/handling. This kit would be good if you only want to add angel eyes on your High beams.
Kit #2: Two (2) pair of Angel Eyes (4 Halos) with instructions for $640 + shipping/handling. This is the complete set for High Beams and Low beams.
So with this kit, you get the raw HALOs which are the KEY to making this conversion. I'll be the one to remove it for you guys from the 2001 E39 Headlights shipped to your front door complete with the Instructions. With the way I wired mine, there would be no drilling or any major modification at all to the ZKW Ellipsoid headlight. And with all the tools and materials handy, it should only take 3-4 hours or even less to do the whole conversion, that is if you are comfortable with soldering and all that other good stuff.
