The sedan is very practical, especially with the fold down rear seat option. I used mine to move and it carried a surprising volume of stuff.
This weekend, I hauled a dresser, desk, entertainment center and a few other items from IKEA. Yes, they were in flat boxes but I'm not sure you'd be able to do that in a coupe. I also think the sedan looks better; more elegant with better proportions (coupe has longer hood and shorter trunk).

However, if you want a manual M3/4, good luck. They're pretty rare, as most of the 8,444 sedans built seem to have automatics.
