I have said on this board before that I am a Salesmanager for a very large Dealership in the Seattle area. I travel from Arizona,Texas and to California to auctions looking for Bmw, Merc, Jags and most other Exotics I come acoss, and any of the BMW's I see that are of that vintage with average or less miles sell for more at auction than the prices that are being discussed on this board at different times. Sounds like I should be shopping with some of you! LOL!! I know on the East coast they are alot cheaper, so I guess I should know where these people are from before I make a judgement. Hope I didn't offend anyone.

Yes, the KBB and NADA prices are much higher than the 25-27k that the posters are recommending. Unfortunately, 97 M3s never reach that high. If you look around on cars.com or just on the internet (type in 1997 M3 in google.com), most of the Ms are on sale from $26-$28k. eBay is even lower, with a great example (1998, montreal blue, all options, 28k miles, etc selling for $29,500 last week). 97s rarely reach the $28k mark there. In addition to eBay, there are several sellers with the same specs (about 45k miles, all options, etc) for $27k on bmwcentral.com. The chrome wheels should definitely add some value, as well as the new Michelins, and your Dinan mods. Being an M3 owner and doing tons of research when I was looking for an M3 two months ago, I would say a fair value for the mentioned M3 should be about $28-$29k. California is definitely much higher, and if you find a buyer who fully appreciates the mods, then you're looking at $30k. But most buyers out there are looking for stock, and stock could be found for $27k easy.

Just my opinion.
