My shop says it very well could be seat belt tensioner. Mine does this too, on tne driver's side, especially noticeable with the windows rolled up and stereo down. It is kind of a clack or popping noise, sometimes almost sounding like a baby toy of some sort. It is definitely in or around the B pillar. Have not tried tensioning the belt while I drive to see if that changes anything. Let me know if you discover what it is, and I'll do the same if I find it.

Has anybody had noise @the B pillar? Seems to occur often when someone is sitting in the front passenger seat. I can't tell if it is in the seat belt post area or if it is in the doors around the 'B' pillar. I had used the rubber seal conditioner by BMW called "Gummiflug", and still have this noise.
Any help or thoughts on this is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
