In Reply to: How much HP can you get NA? Can't decide... posted by Jason on July 08, 2001 at 21:39:46:

I was thinking of getting a 95 M3 because I kind of want to add an AA turbo and get crazy power ... but at the same time I kind of want a 4 door M3. So if I go with a 96+ I'm wondering how much HP I can get normally aspirated if I do all the bolt ons, and maybe some head work , etc. Is 300 HP out of the question? I thought I heard about a kit from bimmerworld.com that included euro hfm, intake, cams, injectors, and a chip and it supposedly got you right around 300 HP ... but now I can't find info on the kit. Anyway, does anyone have any advice for me? AA's price for a turbo for OBDII is just CRAZY ... does anyone else make a turbo kit for 96+ M3 that isn't so damn expensive?

You're probably looking at about 230-235 HP to the wheels, possibly high 220's torque (higher in rev band) with properly tuned Schrick intake manifold, Supersprint full exhaust, chip, intake and all that. If there's a reliable source for good 3.2L cams, maybe up to 245hp, on the wild side...but pretty much must free up those intake runners to make this kind of power! If you go OBD1, probably get around 250 with all this stuff, but then you're not street legal. CYA>PM3
