Do you hear it most when you stop or go? Does the motion of the vehicle tend to cause the "cracking" noise? If so, it's probably what I've discovered. After taking apart ALL the interior coverings and removing all the seatbelt stuff on the C pillar and driving the car around so I could pin point where the sound was coming from, it turned out to the two bolts that secure the rear side window to the C piller. As I recall, there were two bolts (maybe more) that were loose. Everytime (with the window rolled up) I would hear a creak/crack like sound upon accelerating from a dead stop or suddenly stopping. With the window rolled down I would never hear the noise. Your noise problem is most likely from there, if you hear it coming from the C pillar area and not from the door itself. I highly doubt that the seatbelt fasteners/components are what's causing the noise as they were bolted f*ckin "rock solid" on the car.
hk.
Has anybody had noise @the B pillar? Seems to occur often when someone is sitting in the front passenger seat. I can't tell if it is in the seat belt post area or if it is in the doors around the 'B' pillar. I had used the rubber seal conditioner by BMW called "Gummiflug", and still have this noise.
Any help or thoughts on this is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
