Just food for thought- I just inquired to have them put on, but my shop talked me out of it (at their expense)! In PA, there was a bulletin sent recently for licensed inspectors to fail cars with ss lines (according to this reliable independent BMW specialist). Reason being, the ss mesh can fray over time and lead to total brake failure. SS lines are safe for racing b/c one should routinely conduct thorough inspections, i.e. before each race. Part of this check should include an inspection of the brake lines to ensure the lines are not beginning to fray. Now, I would think that ss lines would take an oftly long time before thay would go bad. However, you know how gov't works... there must have been an issue before they would go off and sanction these lines.
