the zo6 has surprised alot of people and magazines (archive)

I was in NJ yesterday comming back from Action Tire (buying major modifications for a WRX i am getting as a kit car to have fun with and beat around with). All of a sudden a Silver Z06 turns in front of me. The magazines have us close so I figure what the hell. He wasnt racing at first when I floored it on him (I was going to show him how sweet our car sounds) I Jumped like 4 car lenths and was pinning it. All of a sudden his Car EXPLODED to life...The thing sounds insane...it has a deep raspy GROWL and he was CATCHING me...FAST. He caught me by third gear where we both had to slam on the breaks do to red light. He was a young guy and we started talking at the light. Well when the light turned green we started together as a rolling start. All I can say is THAT THING IS FAST!! He absolutely killed me. Whoever thinks these cars are only .1 .2 tenths apart is nuts. He pulled away from the beginning and kept pulling away...the thing sounds like a beast. And another thing...hate to break it to you guys...but it outhandles the M3. It has way more grip...granted much better tires and size...I hate my contis they really do suck. Power is addictive and for the first time in my time with my M3 it felt slow. My brother who was with me keep giving me $hit :) I know you guys will say "sure if you want straight line speed......" but thats the thing. The Z06 is an amazing all around sports car, handling, grip, looks, sound, so the interior is cheap....he handed my a$$ back to me and no one cared that I have nicer leather :) I still like my M3 because of its dual nature and refinement. Its comfortable and sporty, but i reailzed yesterday its not an all out sports car like the Z06. Taking nothing away from the M3...my hat goes off to chevy for the Z06. And to Imagnie its going to get 405! hp next year...I believe it will be a 3.9 second car judging from how this one destroyed me like I was standing still. I can begin to describe what a BEAST it looked and sounded like pulling on me. And to think for under $50k you can run with a 911 turbo and handle just as well, amazing. I know a lot of you bash it because its "cheap american" and not a "BMW". If any of you are buying the M3 just as a weekend sports car...I would get the Z06 instead. Its sounds amazing...much louder than M3....and just looks menacing comming out you.... I am a TRUE car enthusiast. I give credit where its due. I DONT bs about "but one magazine had them close" on the road the Z06 will eat the M3 alive...no question. Just because I praise the Z06 doesnt mean I dont love my M3, because I do, I was just shocked at how MUCH faster it really is. This is why I dont give magazine #s much merit, because even though some times appear similar they dont paint an appropriate picture about the distance one car pulls away from another..they should show photos of head to head races in cars.....it bums me out that C32 is going to be faster too. The M3 had a short reign :) but I love it nonetheless.
