Cat-back sound like a can of marbles? (archive)

My System-U recently began sounding that way, especially when cold at low rpm and/or at start-up. Sounded like some pebbles or marbles were inside the pipe/box. I could simply bang on the tips with my fist and hear the rattle. Well, I recently got around to taking a peek underneath and discovered that the flange bolts/nuts at the cat/muffler junction were just a tad loose, allowing just enoungh play for the metal gasket(s) to rattle around inside. A few turns on the nuts and problem solved. Fell in love w/ my UUC all over again . . .
