I dont know if there's really a problem. I was driving my basically stock 95 auto M3, came to a stop, shifted to neutral, then back to D. I noticed that acceleration was slow, then realized that the transmission had gone directly to 3rd gear and was staying there (no shifting). I stopped, shifted to neutral, then back to D: I felt the car jerk forward against the brakes and again noted that the transmission was in 3rd (Im presuming this because the car was accelerating like it was in third gear)and again stayed there despite flooring the accelerator. This happened a few times. Selecting the sport mode did not change anything. I finally parked the car at work. After about an hour and a half, I came out and drove the car and it ran perfectly. What gives? Should I bring the car to the dealer?
