Any pics or videos of safe shifting?

I believe once you engage the clutch if you mis-shift it is too late. I don't think you could have the reaction time to dis-engage the clutch.

You can use safe shifting techniques to help lower the possibility of mis-shifting. When shifting from 2-3 put the palm of your hand on the inside rear of the shift knob and push forward and to the right. When shifting from 3-4 put the palm of your hand on the inside front of the shift knob and pull back and to the right. So instead of your thumb being pointing towards the sky it points toward the ground. You can apply these techniques to shifting through the rest of the gears.

Is there anyway to prevent this from happening. How do you guys keep your sanity about you from fear of this happening.

Also .. if i was to misshift but quickly catch it with the clutch in, would that save my car from engine damage.
I had an 88 Integra, and I really trashed that car, I mis-shifted a few times (although never at redline), but luckily clutched in. Never had any damage. On the M3 if a mis-shift does occur are you pretty much toast???

Any good shift kits that may make it harder to mis-shift?
