About a month ago, I filled up my tank and saw that the gauge read 'empty', with the low fuel light on. It went away after roughly ten minutes of driving. This happened twice in about a week period, and hasn't happened since. At the time, I thought that I might have overfilled the tank, but now I doubt it after reading your post.

Since the very first car I owned, I always reset my trip odometer after each fill up, and I compare my gauge to the odo, so hopefully I won't have any surprises.
