My M3 got egged, will it hurt anything??? (archive)

Last night I was at a friends house and I left around 12 or so and when I came out there were two eggs on my car one was splattered on the hood and the other on the rear pasenger side of the car, as soon as I got home I tried to wash as much of it off with water, but will the egg eat the paint or anything?? I noticed it left scratch marks both places where the eggs hit the paint, whats the best way to try and cover it up or buff it out?? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
