I just came into possession of a set of 4 18x9 Racing Dynamics wheels with 255/35ZR18 Dunlops. Wow do they look great on my '97 M3 Coupe!!! There is virtually no difference in tire diameter in the front, and a slight amount taller in the rear. The offset of the RD wheels is such that there are no inside rubbing problems like shock-tower clearance etc. But the outside clearance is another story.:( Front and rear fenders rub down on top of the tires as they stick out about an inch. I'm thinking I could make this work with H&R/Bilstein to slightly lower and stiffen the car, and some swaybar changes to re-balance the handling characteristics. I want to see if there are some body modifications that will accomodate these tires, without requiring a complete widebody kit. Anyone know of a parts supplier and/or a competent shop for this stuff in the San Jose area?
