The passport 8500 scored 97 points while the old V1 only got 77 points. See the full details at www.radartest.com

Both companies have a free-test-drive 30-day money-back gurantee. Test them, compare and decide. I chose the V1 - I'm no expert but I went with what I liked. The V1 tells you which direction the bogey comes from (unless you get bounce, which could happen but not very often). Once you get used to that little feature, there's no comparison. I laughed when I saw the recent Escort add that said it 'picked up a KA-band signal at 40,222 ft, 3.2 mi before the V1'. You see who their gunning for. An why would I want my detector going off like 7+ mi before I get there - even on a highway. Totally unncessary. The V1 give plenty of notice. But ... why listen to me? Test them and decide.

Rgds,
Norm
