98 M3 48700 miles. Slight vibration and rise in noise coming through the steering wheel when turning wheel in stationary position.

I have had a catalog of problems with the steering since I bought the car starting with a leak from a line when I first bought the car 7K ago. The dealer initially replaced a line and this was followed by the system making the most horrendous of screeching sounds a few days later. Dealer fixed the noise (something obviously improperly installed)however, I am convinced the noise wasn't there when I first bought the car and this is a precurser to needing a new pump 10-20K down the road and out of warranty (300miles left)- possibly contributed to by the dealer. My inde mechanic found traces of fluid when servicing, but the BMW center could not find any leaks or "causes for concern".

Any other reports or suggestions on this subject...
