FYI: when I removed the stock front struts to install my H&R Race with the Bilstein struts, I noticed that the stock strusts were blown already.

This was at 36K miles on the odometer.

How was I able to tell that the struts were blown? I disassembled the strut assembly so only the strut was in my hands. I compressed the strut "rod" and it did not rebound back to full or partial length at all.
