In Reply to: Q: Best Bang-for-the-buck Head unit (by Brand)? posted by Strobelight on September 13, 2001 at 21:44:43:

Looking to get an in-dash CD player. Which brand tends to give the best bang-for-the-buck as far as sound and tuner quality?

I'm thinking Alpine. . . I'm willing to pay more for a better sound.

TIA

models that look very good in the dash. The KDC-Vxxxx decks have variable color display that can be matched to your dash lights. The KDC-V7017 is also Satellite Radio ready. Alpines are good decks, but I don't like the way they look in the dash. I would stay away from the high power (50x4) Alpines. WE sell both Kenwood and Alpine. They're both good products. Reliable, not a lot of warranty issues. Good luck - Jay
