Last time I had my car at the stealer they told me my transmission mounts were collapsed and needed to be replaced (right after warranty ended of course). My regular mechanic told me he would look at it but that unless I'm having trouble getting the car into gear then it shouldn't be a problem. He said its normal for small cracks to appear but that they don't need to be replaced until the fall apart. After a few thousand more miles I am noticing the shifter is a little notchy sometimes trying to get it into gear. Has anyone had this problem.

Also... any opinions on transmission fluids that will improve performance of the transmission. It seems I've read that sometimes a fluid change can smooth things out.
