I just installed the AA exhaust and intake yesterday (see post below). Great products, both. Exhaust is not too loud and looks high quality and professional, like what BMW should have put on the car in the first place. The AA intake, as far as I know, is the same as the ECIS and blends right in under the hood (and sounds great).

As to software, I'm personally leery. I'm not too high on raising the rev limiter (BMW made it very close to what the bottom end of the motor can actually handle) and I've heard stories ranging from too rich a fuel mixture to the OBD II cars adjusting and eliminating the tuning.

Besides, our cars' computers are pretty well set up as it is. I'm not sure if the few ponies you'd get would be worth the $400-500 bucks. But if I were to go with software, I'd probably pick one of BMW's approved Dinan's programs.
