I think I've seen that Dakar M3/4 that you are talking about it has dark tints, a german front plate and a few other obvious mods right?? I live in Elmhurst but have a girlfriend that lives in OP and I see that car constantly in the OP area, have also seen him @ street races by Chinatown on weekends, im pretty sure its the same guy cause of german plate and i havent seen too many Dakar M3's in chicagoland area and that is only Dakar sedan i have ever seen.. You are right, saying the car stands out is an understatement, you can see and hear that car from blocks away!! but I do think it's really nice!!

Jim
not M3 owner but hope to be soon, hopefully Dakar!

Cosmos/black and silver/black are obviously the most popular and the safest. That's what I wanted but in my typical fashion, I ended up on the other end of the spectrum. I was a little self conscience at first in my Hellrot/Modena M3/4.

Now, I absolutely love it. That my car's a sedan eliminates the "mid life crisis" stigma tied to red cars. The fact that it's a not a VW eliminates the mid-20s chick stigma tied to red cars.

A guy in my town (Oak Park, IL) has a Dakar M3/4. It looks great but it sure stands out, I can say that. I say go with what you want and to hell with what others think.
