Performance wise 245/35/18 is the best for 8.5 rims.

I've went through the archive looking for information about what tire sizes are good for 18x8.5 wheels and have gotten all sorts of different sizes. I've recently purchased a set of ACS type III 18x8.5 rims and they recommend 225/40-18 for those wheels. I've read other people who have put much wider tires than those, with most people having at least the 235/40-18 setup. My question is, is the 225/40-18 setup enough? And how will getting, say, the 235/40-18 setup differ? I'm considering going with 235/40-18 tires and would appreciate any comments and advice on this topic. Thanks a lot!!
