no matter what right now. Maybe it will fix itself. If not then I'll take my first trip to the dealer after owning the car only 3 weeks. I guess I should have seen this coming after reading this board (and E36 and E46) for the last year. My car is fun as hell, but I hope it doesn't have problems like this every damn month.

it locks if I turn it... then it may lock. It like that on all cars (that I've ever been in). If you're saying that you turn off your car, and you can freely steer.... then that's screwed up... you should be able to steer a few degrees, and then the wheel should lock...

steering wheel. It won't lock into place when the key is out. I remember hearing about this once a long time ago before I even owned a BMW. Does your wheel always lock?

Ok... I'm just going to take a stab in the dark... try turning off your interior lights too... maybe a bulb is burned out... I duno these BMWs have more electronics than a fighter jet... does your OBC say anything? It seems kind of strange. I wouldn't pull out the speaker or the fuse for it, btw.
