The ding isn't from the steering wheel lock (although if yours isn't locking, something might be wrong). It's making that sound because the spring that your key pushes against is stuck, so it thinks your key is still in there. Just take your key and tap the metal part of the ignition, and the spring should pop back into place, and the ding will stop.My car is behaving strangely. With the drivers door open, NO key in the ignition, the bell dings continuously. If the key is inserted and turne to position 2, the dinging stops. I think that this might have something to do with the steering wheel not locking in place when I remove the key. It will not lock. I hope someone out there knows the solution to this.
