I figured it out....found this at unofficial BMW.com board.....


After considering many options, I have decided to upgrade my non-HK 97 M3 Sedan stereo, but I am going to keep the factory speakers. I am also going to use the factory wiring. Normally, I go crazy and punch a hole in the firewall and run 1/0 auge or 4 AWG power wire, and bypass all the factory wiring. However, I may have to return this system to stock in a few months, so I have the following question: Does anyone have written down which color wires go from the factory amp to the various speakers? I have the knowledge and know-how to figure it out, but it sure will be a pain, and if others have done this before and can save me the hassle, I would sure appreciate it.
