honestly, I don't know how people may mishift from 3rd to 2nd... I ALWAYS shift away from myself with my palm... I can understand mishifting into first from fifth when trying to go for 3rd, or something along those lines... but 3rd to 2nd ..... people just must not pay attention. I know this happens to a lot of people... but I've never been in the car with them, so I don't know if it's their or the cars fault... nor am I going to place blame. And I HOPE *knock on wood* it's not the tranny/BMWs fault. THere was some URL (which I don't have :) that shows the proper technique... master it, and you sould never worry about misshifting.

The ONLY problem when shifting that I found, and almost did it myself... is shifting from 5th to 3rd, but getting 1st. I found shifting from 5th to 4th and then to 3rd made it a LOT easier to find the gear, and I never mishift again.

Anyway... you should be fine... this ONLY happens under very very hard driving/cornering... BTW, I also have UUC Tranny mounts... so that might help me, and why I never notice that the tranny shifts. But if it does... I suggest everyone get the tranny mounts.

Boris..

At one time or another what % of owners do you think mis-shift the M3. Also .. when does it typically occur .. during normal daily driving, when the mind wanders off .. or during high speed aggressive driving? I am wondering because I am interested in a M3 but if I mis-shift I dont have 8-10k to shell out, and will literaly have to let the car sit in a corner (since warranty/insurance wont cover mis-shifts).. I dont plan on aggressive driving, but all this talk about mis-shifts in the m3, are freaking me out .. please advise.

Thanks
