After a recent mis-shift myself. I have a hard time understanding the 5-2 more than the 3-2...

I am not removing any blame from myself BUT I was actually talking about the misshift issue with my passenger as it happened at the track - backhand shifting, conscious of the problem etc. etc.

Look at it this way |-| your normal shift pattern, 3rd lined up over 4th. Now enter a turn at 100mph, the body rolls, the transmission is under pressure and you have this: \-\ 3rd now over 2nd. My issue was that i could NOT engage 4th for the prior two laps, on lap three I was going a little faster, pushing a little harder (becuase I had missed the last two passes b/c of not getting 4th smoothly) and got a very smooth shift from 3rd to 2nd.

My personal opinion on this issue is that as the 1995's are aging things are getting a little softer (transmission mounts, suspension), drivers are getting younger and less experienced, and the cars are seeing more track time. I would not stay away from a 1995 M3 because of this, but i might consider replacing the transmission mounts.

The good news for me is that I get a 3.2l engine in few weeks!!!
