I was mostly satisfied with these tires that were new when I bought my car, but recently, I've experienced a huge change in feel. All of the sudden (about 8k miles of wear), the rear is very loose under acceleration and cornering. I have played around with the tire pressure, but it doesn't seem to make a drastic difference. The only thing I haven't tried is extremely high pressure (i.e. 40s

what you are experiencing is called "heat cycling" and your tires have lost all their grip

it usually is noticable after 10 months or so of use, regardless of tread depth

This happens to ALL tires, (whether street, road race, autox or drag slicks) some worse than others

(the BFG KD is the only tire I can think of that has grip to cord)
