Gravel guard blues... need help/suggestions (archive)

Have a 99 M3 Coupe. Still without knowing how, I've shredded my 2nd plastic gravel shield (under the front end). Am I just an idiot (I hope not) and nobody has trouble keeping this thing in place? Are there sturdier aftermarket products? I'm very careful but something is jarring it loose. The anchor points are shot.

Suggestions would be appreciated.
