for boots, I like Vans best because of the comfort that the Vans' boots offer.
Get brand new boots.
You will be damn annoyed if your boots aint comfortable. If you think Air Max - Nike is good walking shoes, tennis shoes. Then you'll like Vans boots for snowboarding.
*** Make sure you have some room for your toes, cause you'll be using heel-toe'ing techniques All the time. (1.5 size bigger is ideal size. my Nike shoes are 10.5. my snowboarding boots are 12. I need that much of room for the thick socks too)

I guess you need X-Large size for Flow bindings. Doesnt have to be brand new.

for the board, as you're a beginner, I'd suggest you to get a used board for your size, or whatever board priced reasonable. You are going to change boards as you get better.
snowboarding is much much more fun than skiing, but be careful though. Most common injury is broken wrist.
Have fun...
