also the frame is double welded in places that will break on another E36 if you don't do the double weld yourself. It is still possible to break these sub mount points on a M3...just twice as hard.

So if you plan to do any modification you will not really be able to replicate the feel of the m3 even if you get a M technic package for the 328(my friend moved from a 328 to a M..no comparison)...

Also the exterior is quite different(well not that different...but it looks different)...

It will not be worth it to get a M3 if you aren't going to drive it on the track...any car can go crazy speeds on the highway.
