You can get a BMW system for about 260 or so from Pacific BMW.

If you can turn 8 or 10 screws and cut a hole where they tell you, you can install this device. You have to remove your glove box, the glove box light, the panel under the dash board and pull out the eyeglass holder. (There's a finger hole in the top center of the eyeglass holder. Poke around up there and pull and you got it.) Your need to drill a small hole in the under-dsash panel.

(Looking behind the dash at all of the flimsy wiring under there inspired me to get an aftermarket warranty. BMW used the smallest guage wire they possible could for the electronics behind the dash. (Probably saved PENNIES per foot in the process.))

Installation takes about 1.5 hours if you are very slow and careful, and about 45 minutes if you get right to it.

It is not as feature-laden as some after market systems, but it gets the job done and your car is already wired to plug it right in.

Ps.s You also need to bolt the horn in the engine compartment. Involves one nut and plugging in the cord.

Hello,

Just bought a 98 M3! WooHoo!
It has most of the features I want, but not keyless entry.
Is it possible to have installed aftermarket?

If anyone knows or has done it, I would like some advice? Which system is best? What is the cost?

Thanks!
