I've been thinking installing a unix based OS again and I would like some opinions of which Version I should choose. I haven't used Linux in two years but my plans are to use a UNIX system for cracking, hacking, security testing and for fun. I want to install it on a PC with pentium based processor and 256 mb ram and all the goodies. Some of the choices I'm looking at and please add to these: Linux, SUN Sol., or something like Free BSD? If I go with Linux, which is the best for what I want to do? Is Free BSD good for hacking purposes? Can anyone recommend a good book on UNIX with topics relating to what I want to do?
