Speedometer Problems? (archive)

Has anyone had their speedometer and odometer just stop intermittently?

This happened for the second time today. I was driving along just fine and then, all of a sudden, I noticed the speedometer was not working. The odometer was not advancing either.

The car was parked for the better part of the afternoon and then when I drove it again, the speedometer and odometer worked fine. By the way, the few miles I drove when it went out, did not show up on the odometer.

This happened one time a couple months ago but never again until today. Very wierd!!!!!
