I took my '98 M3 to Weatherford BMW (Bay Area, CA) for warranty work, before the main warranty expired on 12/26/2001. The extended warranty takes over then. At first, was not too pleased about them telling me the exhaust rattle may be normal and/or wear and tear. Or, that the slight looseness in the seat was wear and tear. I also asked them to look at the rear shock mounts because another shop said they were bad.

To my surprise, the service advisor said the shock mounts were bad and were replaced. The rattle under the car was from a catalytic convertor that had loose baffles in it. They replaced the entire convertor. They did not drive the car for the loose seat, as traffic WAS terrible nearby, and it was raining. They will reexamine on another date, under warranty.

All in all, not a bad experience, even if their shuttle was very late in transporting me to and from work. They washed the car, and the people there were generally quite courteous.

The car was not driven as they said, as the mileage was unchanged, and it now has a tighter feel to it. Went away pleased with not a penny out of my pocket.
